This is a full-day class where you will learn how to paint a waterfall

 

This class is good for beginners and anyone who wants to experiment with using oil paints. You will have a brief introduction about oil painting and the materials that we will be using. We will also talk about landscape painting and the approach.

 

You do not need to buy any materials as I will be providing them (all materials included).

 

Half way through we will have a 45 min break. Lunch is not included.

 

We will adhere to safety guidelines as recommended by Health authorities.

 

 

Your teacher is COVID-19 aware

 

This means that this teacher won't run a class if they've had flu symptoms in the last 14 days, and will adhere to relevant state restrictions (e.g. on maximum number of students per class)

 

All materials like brushes will be disinfected before and after the session.

 

Also, this class has a flexible cancellation/rescheduling policy, so participants are encouraged not to attend if they are unwell

 

What you will learn:

- How to understand colour: concepts of the colour theory and mixing and its application in the landscape

- Observing and painting approach to landscapes in oils, composition and creating depth using colour, tone and perspective

- Using underpainting and layering of paint while blending colours to create beautiful colours

 

What you will get:

All materials needed... brushes, palettes, and paints! No need to bring anything. You will also take a finished painting back home with you

What to wear:

There is a chance that you stain your clothes, so wear clothes that you do not mind if you stain them

 

What to bring with you?

Just bring a notebook to take some notes, camera to take photos / video and lunch. willingness to learn

 

Important information

 

In this painting class I do not use toxic turpentine. However a minimal amount of odourless solvents are used. Please note that for safety reasons the painting class is not recommended for pregnant women.

Knowledge Required

Some knowledge of drawing and/or painting will be helpful, however, the class is a basic class also suitable for beginners and for all those individuals that want to have a go at painting or just to spend a day of fun while learning something new
